How do fictional characters like Peter Pan from Once Upon a Time shape adolescents' perceptions of relationships and personal growth?

I really have no idea as I don't remember watching this show. I do know that literature has fueled a hunger for escapism. Authors know that being realistic will often hurt their books sales. Many people think sci-fi romantasy is ideal view of what love should be. I have almost never read any fiction books with healthy relationships. Most relationships are full of more chaos than peace. Literature emulates that but the men in literature are far more complex and interesting than any of us men are in real life.
